We’re pleased to announce the first validated release of Shipment Delivery Automation: version 1.0.0.
Shipment Delivery Automation automatically delivers shipments and loggers in the Controlant Platform (SCM)Controlant Platform (SCM) when the evidence that a delivery has taken place meets the delivery criteria configured for your account. It acts as a safety net for shipments that have arrived but were not delivered in the platform, for example when the stop button was not pressed. This reduces manual delivery work and makes delivery timestamps consistent and traceable.
Shipment Delivery Automation is not enabled by default. Controlant configures and enables it per customer. To learn more, contact your Key Account Manager.
New features
Automated delivery decisions. Shipment Delivery Automation evaluates active shipments and loggers against the delivery criteria configured for your account. It determines whether they can be delivered, and with which delivery timestamp, based on the following delivery evidence:
Stop and start button presses.
Light sensor events.
Logger arrival within the destination geofence.
Manual (USB) data uploads.
Carrier proof-of-delivery milestones.
Automatic delivery in the Controlant Platform (SCM). When the configured delivery criteria are met, the shipment or logger is delivered in the platform with the selected delivery timestamp.
Traceable delivery comments. Each automated delivery adds a comment to the shipment stating the reason for delivery.
Delivery criteria configured per customer. Controlant sets up the delivery criteria for each customer, including which delivery evidence is used. The criteria are not configurable by users in the platform.
Frequent evaluation. Shipment Delivery Automation evaluates shipments at least every 15 minutes.
Note:
Geofence arrival and the stop button remain the primary methods for delivering a shipment. If the configured criteria are not met, the shipment is not delivered automatically and is handled the same way as today. Shipments delivered by any other method do not have a Shipment Delivery Automation comment.
If your account already uses Controlant’s existing Shipment Auto Delivery (SAD) automation, nothing changes with this release. Controlant will contact you before moving your account to Shipment Delivery Automation.
